About the author (2018)

Webster Wells (4 September 1851 - 23 May 1916) graduated from the MassachusettsInstitute of Technology, USA, in 1873. In the year itself, he was chosen an instructor at theinstitute and served there till 1880. In later years, he also held the positions of AssistantProfessor (1883), an Associate Professor (1885), and a full Professor (1893-1911) ofMathematics.Wells is credited with authoring many textbooks in mathematics for schools and colleges.
