Papers of the Lloyd Family of the Manor of Queens Village, Lloyd's Neck, Long Island, New York, 1654-1826, Volume 59"The papers of the Lloyd family of Lloyd's Neck, New York, were presented to the New York Historical Society on January 2, 1895, by Charlotte Lloyd (Higbee) Schmidt, a descendant in the sixth generation of James Lloyd, first lord of the Manor of Queens Village. This gift was made shortly after the death of Henry Lloyd IV, the last descendant of the Lloyd's Neck family to bear the family name." James Lloyd I (ca.1653-1684), the third son of Sir John Lloyd of Bristol, immigrated from England to Boston, Massachusetts, moved to Long Island, New York, and married twice. Descendants lived in New York, New England and elsewhere. Some descendants immigrated to Nova Scotia and elsewhere in Canada. |
