Now, the semi-radius of any circle is equal to one fourth part of its diameter; and by parity of reasoning, the mean proportional between the diameter and semi radius of any circle, is equal to the radius of the circle or in other words, the mean proportional between the diameter and semi-radius of any circle, is equal to half the diameter or twice the semi-radius of the circle; and this is unquestionably true, whether the diameter of the circle be represented by any whole number, by the square root of any whole number, or by the square root of any square number.
